When I was a young lady (early teens), my Daddy and I drove from Baton Rouge, LA to Marietta, Ohio to visit my paternal grandparents. I believe this visit was in the Summer.. it may have been Spring Break. What I do remember is we had left the interstate and was going by way of primarily country 'back roads'. This trip was the first time I ever saw a lightening storm.. no thunder and no rain.. just lightening. Daddy pulled over on the side of the road, and we just sat and watched the beautiful show that God created for what seemed like just the two of us. Eventually the storm moved on and we continued on our way.
Later this same trip, possibly even the same day, Daddy and I were looking for a place to have our dinner. After driving for what seemed like forever (both of our bladders were quite full as well), we finally came across a Hamburger Restaurant adjacent to a cow pasture. We ordered our meal and went to find a table. It seemed like it took ages for the workers to prepare the meal. Daddy and I joked that they must have went to harvest fresh meat from the cows in the pasture right outside.
