This event occurred in January 1986.
I was at a sleepover for the young ladies in my church. Some of use were outside on the trampoline. I was sitting 'Indian Style' on the side of the trampoline with another girl. Someone bounced a bit too close to where we were sitting and I was bounced off and landed on my head. Big pain. My mother was called and she brought me to the Emergency Room to be checked. The doctor examined my neck and ordered x-rays.
Mom and I were told how lucky I was. The way I landed, the 'smidgen' between the nerves was the one that was affected. He said a fraction of an inch either way and I would have either been paralyzed from the neck down or killed instantly.
I was forbidden to even look at another trampoline.
